Steamboat Springs, Colo.
February 13, 2004 - New York Times - SITUATED in the Yampa River Valley in
Colorado's northwestern corner, Steamboat Springs (population 10,115)

"champagne" powder onto its peaks. (There has been nearly 15
feet of snowfall this season.) At 6,695 feet, Steamboat Springs is a
true mountain town; in addition to skiers, you'll run across whitewater
paddlers, mountain bikers and trail runners.

it is also a major artists' colony and a four-season destination
featuring everything from fall hikes, to whitewater rafting in the
warmer months, to world-renowned skiing.
