Sierra resorts getting ready for ski season
Sep 16, 2004 - KRNV, NV - Think it's too early to start thinking about snow and ski season? Not if you're running ski resorts in the Sierra. Several mountain managers are already getting prepared for the winter ski season while it's technically still summer! Heavenly is beginning to set-up eleven new towers for it's Powerbowl Express chairlift. They're also putting up new electronic signs to keep skiers aware of conditions. At Sierra at Tahoe they're building up the terrain park. And Northstar plans to open this fall with more than one-and-a-half million dollars in improvements to the Village Pavillion. read more

Ski Season Begins Early This Year, But Not All Tahoe Resorts Are Open Yet
Nov 16, 2003 - KTXL - SOUTH LAKE TAHOE -- The season for boarding and skiing is here early. Sierra at Tahoe ski resort spokesperson, Nicole Belt says, "A lot of people like to come up here for the holiday weekend. This year, we opened on Friday, Nov. 14th." Such an early start is virtually unheard of and only a few resorts were able to do it. In fact, last year Sierra at Tahoe opened a month late, on December 15th." read more
