Mohawk ready for start of ski season
Nov 17, 2003 - Torrington Register Citizen, CT - CORNWALL - There is no definitive way to target and open a ski season. Some watch for signs of snow, while others listen for the distance roar of snow guns at night. Mohawk Mountain President Carol Lugar said they set their sights on Thanksgiving, and then pray for good snow the weekend prior. The "soft," unofficial opening date depends purely on Mother Nature, Lugar said. But either way, it will most likely be just two more weeks before the ski and snowboard season will be off and running once again. read more
