Special Olympics a ‘huge success’
Feb 8, 2012 - The Illinois Special Olympics Winter Games were held in Galena last week. Over 1,000 people gathered at Chestnut Mountain in Galena to watch the athletes in the alpine and cross country skiing and the snow shoe competitions. Coaches and athletes from all over the state spent two days in competition while friends and family watched and cheered them on. read more
