Split Rock Ski Resort News
Resort
investment and development to continue
December 07, 2003 - Charleston Sunday Gazette Mail, WV - It’s almost a
cliché to say folks who haven’t visited Snowshoe ski resort in a few
years won’t recognize the place. Indeed, the deep-pocketed Intrawest
Corp. has virtually transformed the top of Snowshoe Mountain since it
bought the resort from Tokyo Tower Development Corp. in 1995. Starting
in 1998, the Vancouver-based company has created what it likes to call a
village — about 350 condominiums and 40,000 square feet of shops and
restaurants in three major buildings, plus an indoor swimming center
called Split Rock Pools. That’s not counting improvements to ski
terrain, snow-making and other infrastructure.
